About The Event
🎬 The Wild Geese Film Club: The Magdalene Sisters (2002)
Our friends at The Wild Geese Society of Czechia host a film evening every second Thursday of the month, bringing people together for great cinema and thought-provoking discussions!
This month, they're screening The Magdalene Sisters (2002), directed by Peter Mullan. Set in 1960s Ireland, this critically acclaimed drama follows three young women sent to a Magdalene Asylum, exposing a dark and troubling chapter of Irish history.
Raw, moving and unforgettable, the film raises important questions about institutional power, injustice and the treatment of women in Irish society. A fascinating discussion is sure to follow!
