☘️September Pub Quiz Rundown
It was another battle for the big prize on Tuesday September 29 at Sally O'Brien's. Four [possibly five 😉] teams were competing for a gift voucher kindly provided by Sally's. There was no shortage of merriment during the evening, including several disputes around the accuracy of the answers provided by the Quizmaster and the generous doling out of penalty points by said Quizmaster to control the insurrection. The teams were as follow -

Team 5 was an unofficial team which joined late, and managed to win a spot prize, of which there were several during the evening, culminating in the biggest and best spot prize of them all - a 12-pack of Tayto crisps, deservedly carried off by Matt from the URGHHH team. The query to which he was first to provide the correct answer [no second guesses permitted] was the following -
In a room of 100 people, 99% of the people are left-handed. How many left-handed people need to leave the room in order to reduce that percentage to 98%? See how quickly you can solve it!
There were a few tunes along the way to identify. Although pretty much all teams recognised this Sinéad O' Connor track, no-one correctly identified the name of the song. Can you?
The teams proved themselves to be very capable, and the results were very close, however in the end it was the URGHHH that pipped It's all John's Fault to the post. The somewhat controversial bonus and penalty points definitely played a role in this, for which the Quizmaster takes zero responsibility. Final standings and leaderboard are shown below.
