Halloween Charity Trick-or-Treat

Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Charity is an event for children with a charitable dimension. Last year, we managed to raise 263,000 CZK for SOS Children's Villages . The founder Dinah Spritzer-Richter and several friends organized the first Halloween in Prague for her two children back in 2017, and since then, more and more people have been joining the event and the number of enthusiastic little trick-or-treaters has increased.
It is a combination of Irish-American tradition, fun, adventure, physical activity, friendly vibes, costume parade, exploring new places, good mood, sweets and joy not only from receiving something, but mainly from giving. The idea isn’t that children should “buy” treats from hosts, but that they receive treats as a small thank-you for being kind and donating coins to help other kids in need. And that’s the main mission of the whole event!
Last year, more than 80 hosts joined us, opening their businesses and homes, preparing sweets for the children and donating 10 CZK for each trick-or-treater to the official money boxes. Thanks to us, the businesses gained advertising and attendance from hundreds of children accompanied by adults.
This year, Dinah handed over the organization of the entire event to me, and I am therefore already trying to secure hosting places so that the event can run successfully again. (I am Czech, so please excuse my English. ;-))
This year we will go to the streets of Vinohrady, Žižkov and Vršovice for the ninth time, on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM . Due to the cooperation with the Prague 10 and 2 City Hall, it is possible that we will have more host locations in other districts. With schools and clubs we´ve come up with the idea of placing the charity money boxes for the whole week, especially when they are located further from the center of the event.

Please let me know if you like our idea and would like to help us by sharing/posting our event among your family members, followers and friends. Maybe some of you would like to become a hero and help us by participating as hosts, promoting this event, getting volunteers or organizing a collection of candies that will be later distributed to hosts. Only together as a team with other hosts can we make hundreds of children happy twice. That is, children who enjoy Halloween trick-or-treating, and at the same time, those less fortunate children without fully functioning families who, thanks to the money collected, can participate in trips, excursions and camps.
If there is any snag here that would anybody prevent you from joining us, we will try to find a solution to everyone's satisfaction.
