A warm welcome to our newest Affiliate member: The Coiscéim Dance Group!

The Coiscéim Dance Group and School of Irish Dance in Prague was founded in 2000 by Irena and Lucie Samcová. Specializing in Irish folk dances, céilí, and both soft and hard shoe styles, they’ve worked closely with Anne-Marie Cunningham TCRG, a former Riverdance dancer, to refine their technique and introduce new step trends. Coiscéim has also contributed choreography to films such as Citadela (2002) and Tristan and Isolde (2003).

Coiscéim is currently dancing and competing under the Avalon Academy of Irish Dance with their teacher TCRG Adriana Šturdíková, working closely with John Lonergan, a 6x World Champion and a Riverdance dancer.

Dancing in their ranks are Mainland European champions and a a runner up céilí team, many of their dancers represented Czechia at the World Irish Dance Championships

Curious about the meaning of Coiscéim? It best translates as footstep, step, or a starting step for dancing.

We're excited to collaborate and expand our community alongside this wonderful group of people.
