Fri 13th June saw CIBCA’s Annual Golf Day take place at Black Bridge Golf Resort, Prague.
With perfect weather and a good course in great condition it was a good day out for all 13 players - an almost 45% increase in participation on last year! Sandwiches, drinks and sausage rolls were provided on the first tee with the first group getting underway at 12:30pm.
Some might consider Friday 13th unlucky but not for Richard Curran, defending champion who scooped top prize again with a great score of 41 points despite some very tricky pin positions on a hot day probably better-suited to lying on a beach than toiling in the sandy bunkers. In the low handicap category (handicaps under 20) James McCoy came in second behind Richard [Curran] with 33 points and Marco Anderegg was third with 29. The high handicap category (handicaps of 20 and above) was won by CIBCA committee member Garret Byrne with 36 points ahead of Vladimir Bayer on 34. There were also prizes for nearest the pin on the 10th hole won by Sean Curran and longest drive on the 4th hole taken by Frank Nourse. Prizes were awarded in the clubhouse bar, where important rehydration efforts were taking place.
A big thank you goes to Black Bridge Golf Resort who gave us a great discount on green fees, donated some prizes and even gave the last group some free sausages on the 10th tee, which were totally unexpected and greatly appreciated.
Some photos - presented below - may lack technical quality but hopefully capture the spirit of the day!
